ICR 2525: A Silver Jubilee of Excellence and Perseverance

We are delighted to welcome you to the Institute for Clinical Research (ICR), a proud member of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) under the Ministry of Health Malaysia. At ICR, we are committed to advancing clinical research that is meaningful, impactful, and above all, accessible.

Established to support and strengthen clinical research nationwide, ICR serves as a hub for investigators, healthcare professionals, and collaborators to design, implement, and translate research into better health outcomes. Our core functions include providing scientific leadership, research training, data management support, and governance for national clinical studies. We also play a key role in building capacity through education, fostering multidisciplinary partnerships, and driving innovations that improve patient care.

A key strength of ICR lies in our network of 37 Clinical Research Centres (CRCs) strategically located across Malaysia. This nationwide footprint allows us to serve as a one-stop center for conducting multicenter studies, enabling seamless collaboration, recruitment, and data collection from diverse populations and healthcare settings across the country.

Guided by our motto, “Research that matters to patients,” we are focused on research that is patient-centered, practical, and capable of driving meaningful change. At ICR, we envision a research ecosystem that is not only scientifically rigorous but also engaging and inclusive. We believe research should not be intimidating or exclusive—it should be collaborative, dynamic, and even fun.
