Established in 2007, Clinical Research Centre Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru (CRC HSAJB) is one of 37 CRCs in the Ministry of Health Malaysia's network. Located in Johor Bahru, it collaborates with local and international research institutions across various medical specialties, including hematology, cardiology, gastroenterology, and dermatology. With 29 departments and 26 units, CRC HSAJB is dedicated to high-quality research, training healthcare professionals, and integrating findings into clinical practice to advance healthcare standards and improve patient outcomes in Johor and beyond.

Dr. Marina has over a decade of clinical research experience, specializing in psychiatric disorders. She has significantly advanced mental health treatment through her leadership in numerous Phase III trials, particularly in schizophrenia and depression. Recently, she has focused on integrating cutting-edge technology in mental health care, leading a study on virtual reality for generalized anxiety disorders. A prolific researcher and clinician, her work is widely recognized in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Additionally, Dr. Marina serves as a committee member in the Medical Research and Ethics Committee (MREC) and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Ethic Review Board, contributing to the ethical oversight of clinical research.
Research Highlights
Her notable contributions include the investigation of ALKS 9072 in the treatment of schizophrenia, which has provided critical insights into the efficacy and safety of this innovative therapy. Similarly, her work on the Lurasidone HCI trials (PASTEL D1001056 and D1001057) has been pivotal in evaluating this drug's potential for managing schizophrenia.
